Williams: With The Fans On Our Side We Will Get Out Of This Struggle

14 April 2015

On loan defender Jordan Williams is confident that the Magpies can escape the drop…

The man on loan from Liverpool believes that the squad have enough quality to finish above the relegation zone come the final whistle at Gillingham at the beginning of May.

He also spoke to the local media, the importance of having the Meadow Lane home crowd right behind the team for the final three home fixtures, starting with Barnsley on Tuesday night.

Williams told Magpie Player: “We will need the fans on our side, just like they were at Yeovil, which was great to see. At home we need them right behind us and I think with them on our side we will get out of this struggle.

“It’s massive, with fans behind you, anything can happen.

“We are taking one game at a time, we are looking forward it. Now we just need to get as many wins as possible.

“The lads have got their heads down and since the new Manager has come in, he’s given us some new ideas and you will have seen that in the second half at Yeovil.

“For the last five games we have to be more attacking and create more chances and be more clinical in front of goal.

“There is plenty to work on, including set pieces and we are all working hard.

“The Manager has given us messages to take on board, we were in on Sunday to recover and spend time as a squad.

“We all back the Manager and we will go into the game confident.

“He’s been brilliant. Some of the ideas is what we do at Liverpool. Different ideas and he wants us to get the ball down and play and be confident.

“All the lads have clicked onto what he wants us to do. Tomorrow’s a massive game and show him what we are capable and I know we will do it.”
