Haynes: It's Great To Be Back

1 September 2014

Striker Danny Haynes was delighted to be back playing at Meadow Lane against Bristol City after an injury lay-off...

The former Ipswich Town forward had been out with an ankle injury he sustained whilst out on loan for Hibs.

Now the striker is hoping to get more game time and eventually back into the starting eleven.

Haynes had played 45-minutes in midweek against Peterborough United in a behind closed doors friendly and was delighted to get more game time on Sunday.

He told Magpie Player: "I've been training hard and it's great to be back. Our medical department have been working me hard and it feels great to be back out there.

"I feel strong and I don't feel too far behind the boys.

"Hopefully I will catch up and my ambition is to get back into the starting line-up as quickly as possible.

"I accept I'm down the order, but I'm just pleased to be back and involved on the bench.

"I've been out for a long time and hopefully I can do things off the bench and get there.

"It's a bit different up in Scotland and I didn't adapt as well as I thought I would.

"I don't think Notts have seen the best of me yet, the former manager played me out of position and I'm working as hard as I can be.

"The Gaffer and I have an understanding and hopefully I can push on and do good things.

"Everyone's down in the dressing room to lose to the last kick in the game. We played well as a team throughout and it was great to see so much enthusiasm out there.

"We will go again and remain positive."
