Hollis: Play The Game, Rather Than The Occasion

1 May 2015

Defender Haydn Hollis is confident that the Magpies can retain their League One status on the final day…

Just like last season, Notts go into the final game of the campaign needing a result to stay up.

Hollis is fully focussed and relaxed that the Magpies will see similar scenes as we saw at Oldham back in May 2014.

He told Magpie Player: “Hopefully we can repeat last year. There’s no nerves, I can’t sense it on the lads. I don’t think we should be in this position, but it is what it is and we’re in the right mind for it.

“The position we are in, is exactly the same as last time. The season as whole is completely different.

“Some people got carried away earlier this season and it’s where we are.

“When we manage to do it on Sunday it’s full credit to the squad that we’ve done it.

“The feeling last year was the best feeling in the world, but you don’t want to be in that situation.

“The camp’s mood is better than last week. The belief is there and after the win, everyone is more relaxed, including the fans.

“We will be relaxed, playing the game rather than the occasion.”
