Defender Haydn Hollis is happy to be back out on the football pitch and is now focussing on helping the club reach League One status again…
The Youth Team graduate has been working hard throughout the close season to ensure he kept himself fit and he’s hoping for a more successful season this time round.
He told Magpie Player: “I’m never a fan of pre-seasons, I’m not sure too many footballers are! But I always enjoy coming back and meeting the new lads and it’s a fresh start for us all.
“When the season is underway, it will all be worth it.
“I had a little break and I’m sure the other guys have done the same and done a lot of fitness work on there own too. Mike Edwards gave us all our homework to work on, with runs and gym sessions.
“We are all determined to put last season’s disappointment behind us and move on and be successful this year.
“We all want to do as best we can next year and that’s bouncing back at the first attempt. It’s easy to say it, but everyone’s aim to go straight back, but we saw what happened to the likes of Tranmere Rovers last time, it’s going to be a difficult league.”
