Hayden Mullins Reveals It Was An Easy Decision To Sign For Notts County

6 June 2014

Notts County’s latest summer signing Hayden Mullins did not take much convincing to return to Meadow Lane for 2014.15.

Mullins joined the club on loan at the back end of last season and played a pivotal role in helping the Magpies complete The Great Escape.

The 35-year-old forged a strong relationship with fellow centre-back Haydn Hollis to ensure that County tightened up defensively in the final run-in.

Mullins revealed that there was interest from other clubs but he was always eager to rejoin manager Shaun Derry and pull on the Black and White stripes again.

“I’d heard a few bits and pieces and spoke to my agent and my family,” he told Magpie Player.

“You hear of things but nothing’s really concrete at this time of the season but it’s still early as well.

“I had a couple of conversations with Shaun and he said that he wanted me to come down again.

“Having been at the club and witnessed it previously, it was an easy decision for me - it was very comfortable for myself and a decision I was happy with.

“The club’s well run and I like the way that Shaun works, he wants to win and he wants his team to play good football, be tough and to win games.

“I wanted to work with him again and I’m sure that we can get some success.”
