Four On The Bounce

16 December 2013

Notts County youth team made it four league wins on the spin at the weekend with a 2-0 victory against Burton Albion.

Free-scoring frontman Colby Bishop was again on target for the young Magpies, as he netted both goals.

Bishop has contributed an impressive nine goals in the four wins and has proven to be a big part of the youth team’s turnaround in recent weeks.

Academy manager Mick Leonard told the official site: “Colby has made a big difference with his goals and things can only get better for him.

“Overall, it was a solid team performance and we feel like we can go out and beat anyone at the minute.

“In my opinion were by far the better football team, ee kept the ball well and we were pretty solid all over the pitch.

“Against Burton, you’ve always got to defend well and keep your concentration, particularly on corners and free-kicks.

“We marked men and competed and played where we could.

“It was another good performance and keeps our run going heading into the Christmas break.

“Even before we hit the run we weren’t getting beat heavily and now we’re hitting the net we can really look forward to returning in the new year.”
