Notts County Football Club has secured the services of experienced midfielder Gary Jones on a one-year deal.
Jones has been a key performer in Sky Bet League 1 for the likes of Rochdale and Bradford City in recent years.
A natural leader, the combative midfielder has skippered both of his last two clubs and has always proven to be a standout player when facing Notts.
The 37-year-old has played well over 600 times in the Football League and will offer guidance to the squad’s younger talent as well as provide quality in the engine room.
Jones proved that he can be a key player for Notts this term with an impressive display in the Magpies’ 2-0 pre-season triumph over CA Osasuna that saw him score a stunning volley and set up Hayden Mullins’ thumping header.
The new number 13 is in contention to make his competitive County debut in this weekend’s 2014.15 curtain-raiser against Preston North End at Deepdale.
