Bristol City will not be looking to do Notts County any favours when the teams clash at Ashton Gate on Good Friday, says manager Shaun Derry.
The Robins all but secured their place in Sky Bet League 1 for another season when they hit the 50-point mark last weekend with a win over Walsall.
Former Notts boss Steve Cotterill’s side have picked up dramatically in 2014 to drag themselves to safety - something that the Magpies are still working on in the remaining four games.
Derry, who was coached by Cotterill as a Queen’s Park Rangers player, believes that City will be eager to maintain their good form and that his side can expect a very difficult encounter.
He told the press: “I know how Steve works with his enthusiasm and dedication to the game and his team’s not going to do anyone any favours - and rightly so.
“We know that they’re going to come at us on Friday and want to win the game.
“Do some players sometimes take their eye off the ball? Possibly, but we can’t go there hoping for that.
“We’ve got to continue doing what we’ve done, because I’ve always said it’s about us.
“It’s a massive game and one that I’m really looking forward to.”
