Dave Regis To Be Sunday's Special Guest

9 October 2015

Our special guest on Sunday will be the popular Dave Regis who not only played for Notts, but also for our visitors Plymouth Argyle.

Lunch patrons in Wheeler's will be entertained by his football stories and his Meadow Lane memories.

Because of the earlier kick-off time he will be interviewed by Colin Slater shortly after 1.30.

Dave was part of a remarkable double deal by manager Neil Warnock early in the 1990-91 season when Notts paid over £200,000 to non-League Barnet for him and Paul Harding.

At the end of that season the big centre forward was scoring at Wembley as Notts beat Brighton 3-1 to go into the old First Division, then the top flight in English football.

Dave is a member of a well-known sporting family. His elder brother Cyrille, also a centre forward, won six caps for England and his cousin John gained international honours as a sprinter.

In an all-too-brief stay with Notts Dave made 38 League starts, scoring 17 goals, before Plymouth paid £200,000 for him in November 1991. He later helped Stoke City to carry off the Second Division championship and towards the end of his career returned to Notts on loan from Barnsley.

Today is your last chance to book a hospitality package for Sunday's game, full details are here.
