Notts County Commercial Director Damian Irvine is leaving the club to pursue new opportunities...
Irvine, who took up his position at Meadow Lane in March 2014 officially leaves Meadow Lane today and admitted that it was difficult to leave a club that he has grown so fond of during his successful tenure.
“I’m extremely grateful to Ray and Aileen Trew, and Jim Rodwell for bringing me to such a proud club and have enjoyed my time here immensely,” Irvine explained.
“We’ve enjoyed the positive Great Escape run on the pitch and also felt the disappointment this season, but in the front office to have won the Prestigious FC Business award for Best Club Marketing in the UK whilst at the same time really connecting with our supporters and the businesses of Nottingham with The Bench Campaign has been extremely rewarding.”
He added: “It’s testament to the character of the club that season ticket holders and commercial partnerships have increased and continue to do so during the past 12 months. With patience and the continued loyal support Notts County enjoy from their amazing supporter and business partners, I’m certain of a fruitful future for the club.”
Notts Chairman Ray Trew said of Irvine’s departure: “Notts County are thankful to Damian for his effort during his time.
“Damian bought great energy and innovative ideas to the club and worked well with our commercial partners and supporters during a period of lean football performances. He leaves with our thanks and very best wishes for his future career in football.“
