Brothers Named New Supporters Liaison Officer

17 September 2014

Notts County are delighted to announce that Stuart Brothers has been appointed as the club’s new Supporter Liaison Officer (SLO)…

The season ticket holder in the Kop successfully came through an interview with the club’s board last week and will be primarily responsible in building bridges between the club and the fans in his new role.

The 32-year-old told the Official Site: “I’m about as excited as I am terrified in fairness.

"It's a huge honour to have been chosen out of the applicants the club received, but I'm under no illusion that it's going to take a lot of hard work for people to take myself, or the role, seriously.

“I think the chance to have a say in how things progress at the club is too big to turn down.

“I'm not naive enough to think everyone will take note of the role's importance initially. I need to convince people that the supporters do have a voice, and that they will be heard.”

The SLO, a role brought in by UEFA, reports to the club’s board with feedback from the fans on a regular basis. Discussions will then be placed onto the Official Site and the club’s media outlets to ensure true transparency.

Director Aileen Trew told the Official Site: “The Supporter Liaison Role is a key gateway between the club and our fans and it was important that we found the right person who had the dedication and drive to really make the position their own and I believe we’ve found that in Stuart.

“He’s certainly not someone who is afraid to speak his mind and as an active user of social media he is very accessible to our supporters. He’s certainly easy to spot on match days too!

“In all seriousness though, I am delighted that Stuart has agreed to take on this role because, as a club, we need the fans to feel that they are represented within the club and likewise we need to be able to assure the supporters that everything that we are doing is in the best interests of the club.

“Our new SLO will have an active presence on the club’s website, in the matchday magazine and in person here at the club so I hope that the fans will use him as a conduit to get their voice heard here at Meadow Lane because together we can achieve great things at Notts County.”

Supporters can contact Stuart in various different ways if they have any queries/questions, whether that be in person or online.
