Bialkowski Hails Rock Solid Defence

31 March 2014

He waited quite a while for it but Bartosz Bialkowski finally got his clean sheet and three points in one game, after Notts County beat Colchester United 2-0.

Bialkowski had most recently achieved a shutout and a win in the 3-0 victory over Coventry City at the beginning of February but made a string of important saves on Saturday afternoon to ensure that the Magpies ended the wait.

The result topped off a perfect week for Notts, as the team achieved three consecutive victories to climb out of the Sky Bet League 1 drop zone.

Bialkowksi was full of praise for his defensive unit, which has looked much sturdier in recent matches, and hopes to keep up the run this coming weekend against Brentford.

The stopper said: “As a back five we’ve been absolutely rock solid and I’m so happy we’ve kept a clean sheet because it’s been a while.

“If we’re going to play like that and keep winning everyone is going to be happy, especially the fans.

“Winning the games is the best feeling in the world and the clean sheet has given us massive confidence and we deserve that.”

He continued: “It was an amazing week - such an important week as well - and we could have had three clean sheets, because in the last two games, we’ve been unlucky to concede from two deflections

“We don’t want to get carried away and we just need to keep going, keep our heads down and keep training hard to prepare for the next one.

“There’s still six games left and it’s not over yet.”
