Nolan registers to play

31 January 2017

Notts County manager Kevin Nolan has registered to play for the club.

The Magpies exited their transfer embargo last week, enabling them to become active in the remaining days of the transfer window.

And Notts' new chairman and owner Alan Hardy is thrilled to add Nolan to the squad.

He said: “It was always Kevin’s intention to register as a player and I’m delighted to confirm we have now completed the formalities.

“He will of course need to continue building his fitness but, when he’s ready, I’m confident we will have one of, if not the, best midfielders in the league.

“Kevin and I will continue to discuss further transfer targets and I will update fans on our progress in due course.”

Nolan, 34, has enjoyed a tremendous career so far, racking up hundreds of Premier League appearances for Bolton, Newcastle and West Ham before taking on a player-manager role at Leyton Orient last year.

He will wear squad number 44 for the Magpies.
