Proud of the players

25 February 2017

Notts County manager Kevin Nolan declared himself proud of his players following the 0-0 draw with Yeovil Town at Meadow Lane.

The Magpies had 17 attempts at goal but were unable to break down a resolute Yeovil side.

And, despite being frustrated that his team couldn't claim all three points, the manager emphasised the positives after full-time.

He said: "You've got to look at it the right way. Yeovil have come and respected us today - they put 10 behind the ball and made it difficult. When we got into the final third it just didn't drop for us in the box or, if it did, it probably dropped to the wrong person.

"I've just told the lads how proud they should be of how far they've come in such a short space of time. There was expectancy that we were going to win today and you've got to be pleased about that.

"The fans were absolutely fantastic again so there are lots of positives to take out of it."

This result extended Notts' unbeaten run at Meadow Lane to five matches, a pleasing statistic for the gaffer.

Nolan said: "I'm absolutely delighted with our form here since I've come in. It's great to be part of this place at the minute and we've just got to make sure we keep going and get safe as quickly as possible.

"Once we do that we can hopefully start building for a long, successful journey."
