No rolling over

16 April 2017

Notts County manager Kevin Nolan is determined to postpone Portsmouth's promotion party on Easter Monday.

More than 4,000 Pompey fans are set to descend on Meadow Lane with hopes of seeing their team secure a top-three finish and a League One place.

But Nolan will be putting his friendship with Portsmouth's manager and assistant aside as he looks to stretch his own side's unbeaten home run to nine matches.

He said: "I know Paul Cook and Leam Richardson really well and after Monday I wish them all the best.

"It's going to be another good game and hopefully we spoil their promotion party. That's our target - we don't want to lose to anybody and we want to keep our home record up.

"We've got four games left and I feel we can win them all. We're not going to roll over for them."

With such vocal away support anticipated, Nolan has stressed the importance of the Magpies faithful playing their part once again.

The manager said: "We want our crowd to make sure we keep them quiet and we do that by making sure we do our jobs right.

"It's going to be a good day but we've got to make sure we don't get carried away with what's going on around us."

Notts supporters are urged to buy their tickets in advance online. Click here for more information.
