Notts County manager John Sheridan has named Michael O’Connor as his captain for the 2016-17 campaign.
The 28-year-old joined the club from Port Vale this summer and, while he will be unavailable for tomorrow’s season opener at Yeovil following a pre-season injury, he has recently returned to full training.Sheridan told nottscountyfc.co.uk: “Choosing a captain was not an easy decision because we are fortunate to have several players with the required experience and mentality to take the armband.
“But I believe Michael is the right man and I look forward to welcoming him into the side as soon as he’s ready.”
