Laing back at the Lane

15 August 2016

Notts County have completed the loan signing of Motherwell’s Louis Laing.

The 23-year-old central defender, who is embarking on his second spell at Meadow Lane, will be initially eligible for the Magpies until the Mansfield match on Saturday 14 January.

His previous loan came early in the 2014-15 season when he joined from Nottingham Forest, making 12 appearances and helping Notts keep six clean sheets in League One.

The Sunderland academy graduate, who made one Premier League appearance for the Wearsiders, joined Motherwell after his Magpies loan expired and later made a permanent switch to the SPL side.

Laing made 15 top-flight appearances last season and will be eligible for tomorrow’s match against Plymouth.

After completing the formalities of his deal, Laing said: "It’s good to be back because the last stint I had here was massively enjoyable.

"It’s a big club with great fans and and hopefully we can replicate our form from when I was last here and push for promotion. I firmly believe we can do that - it's one of the reasons I came.

"We’ve got a good manager in place and the fans are brilliant - they will cheer us on all the way.

"We’ll take each game as it comes, starting with three points against Plymouth tomorrow night."

Laing's home and away shirts are now available to sponsor, as well as his training kit, boots and socks. Call the commercial department on 0115 955 7241 or email sales@nottscountyfc.co.uk for more information.
