Another game, another goal

Notts County forward Jon Stead couldn't be happier with his current form after adding to his goal tally today.

Stead scored his seventh of the campaign to go second in the Sky Bet League Two goalscoring charts as the Magpies beat Leyton Orient 3-1.

And the forward is delighted with how the season's going for him so far.

He said: "It's going alright! I'm getting my chances and sticking my fair share away which, as I've said before, is when I'm happiest.

"It was a good strike - I caught it well, which I've done a few times now especially on my left-hand side. As soon as it left my foot I could tell it was going in. We were disappointed to concede late on but Aaron Collins made sure we were comfortable.

"I'm pleased to score again but the three points at home were massive. We got them today and we looked good for it."

Stead was replaced shortly after scoring, but says he has no serious injury problem.

He said: "It was just a slight knock on my hamstring - it was more precautionary than anything with a long trip down to Exeter on Tuesday.

"I'll see how it goes over the next couple of days but it's going to have to be a lot for me to miss games - I want to be playing every minute I can.

"I think it was the right time to come off because I didn't want to make anything worse."
