It's about us

Rob Milsom says the momentum gained from the late comeback against Exeter has given Notts a spring in their step heading to Leyton Orient.

The Magpies were 2-0 down when four minutes of second-half stoppage time were indicated on Tuesday night but two goals in as many minutes from Richard Duffy and Jorge Grant rescued a point.

It was a result which felt like a victory and Milsom wants the vibrant mood in the camp to continue.

He said: "We'll be positive going into the game. I thought we were unfortunate to find ourselves 2-0 down against Exeter because there wasn't a lot in it but getting the two goals in added time gives us confidence to take into this weekend.

"It's a good sign [the comeback]. It shows the good character we have within the squad. The manager has instilled some confidence and self-belief into the players and the whole place in general feels more positive."

Notts came off the pitch on Tuesday night to find Orient had snatched a late winner at Plymouth to close the gap between the sides but the midfielder insists the Magpies should focus on themselves rather than their competitors.

"It's about us," he said. "We don't want to be thinking about the teams around us too much. If we get results ourselves we'll climb the table."

Milsom and Michael O'Connor have thrived in central midfield under the management of Kevin Nolan since the former West Ham captain took charge last month.

And the 30-year-old is enjoying his run of form alongside his former Rotherham United team-mate.

He said: "I'm pleased to be playing every week. Everyone knows I've had frustrating times with injuries in the past but I have managed to keep myself fit and hopefully I can put more games together.

"It's probably my best spell since coming here and it's nice to be able to get a partnership going with Michael in central midfield. I played with him at Rotherham and I still enjoy playing with him. He knows my game I know his, which is key."
