Hewitt extends Meadow Lane stay

19 May 2017

Elliott Hewitt has accepted Notts County's offer of a new two-year contract.

The 22-year-old has proven himself to be a versatile operator since joining from Ipswich Town in 2015, playing at right back, central defence, on the wing and in central midfield during his time at Meadow Lane.

And, after featuring in all but three games of Kevin Nolan's tenure as Notts boss, Hewitt is thrilled to be extending his stay with the club.

He said: "I would like to say a big thank you to the manager and chairman for the faith they've shown in me.

"This is where I want to be and I'm looking forward to what I hope will be a great 2017-18 season for the club."

Nolan added: "I am absolutely delighted that Elliott has agreed to stay with us.

"He was brilliant for me last season and I am excited at the prospect of working closely with him to aid his continued development."

Hewitt has made a total of 74 appearances for the Magpies, scoring twice.
