Notts County’s head of academy coaching Dan Leivers wants to see the Under 18s build momentum at home to Lincoln City on Saturday.
The young Magpies face the Imps at Highfields (11am) and Leivers has encouraged his team to replicate the performance that earned them a 2-1 victory at Scunthorpe United last weekend.He said: “Our intention is to win – as always – especially after performing so well last week following a bad run. We want to keep that momentum going.
“We’ve had a good week in training and I’m really pleased with how everyone’s progressing.
“We drew 1-1 with Lincoln in the reverse fixture so it will be tough. They’re quite physical and direct but hopefully we’ll have a good surface which will let us show what we’re about.”
The first team host Colchester United later that day and Leivers hopes supporters will be up for a double-header.
He said: “Highfields is only a 10-15 minute drive away from Meadow Lane so if fans would like to come down, the lads always appreciate the support.”
