Big games ahead

27 April 2017

Notts County manager Kevin Nolan says the Magpies' remaining two matches are 'massive' in terms of building momentum for next season.

Next up for Nolan's men is Blackpool this Saturday, their final home match of the 2016-17 campaign.

And, following back-to-back defeats, Nolan is determined to stop the rot this weekend to send everyone into the summer on a high.

The manager said: "We've got to get back to winning ways on our own territory. It's about us finishing with a bit of a bang - not just resting on our laurels.

"It's very important we don't switch off now. These next two games are massive for us.

"We finished 18th last year and we want to better that."

Nolan will be without the services of captain Michael O'Connor, who is facing a lengthy absence after rupturing his ACL in the Easter Monday match against Portsmouth.

He also revealed that Marc Bola and Rob Milsom have been struggling with niggles of late.

Whoever is selected to face the Tangerines must be prepared to face a team with everything still to play for.

Nolan said: "It's always good when you've got that - it will help us because we know we've got to try and spoil the party.

"We weren't able to do it against Portsmouth but we don't want Blackpool coming here and securing the play-offs."
