Preview: Morecambe (H)

Notts County will be hoping to extend their excellent run of form with a fourth consecutive victory this weekend.

Morecambe will arrive at Meadow Lane with intentions of halting Notts' progress after John Sheridan guided his side to wins against Cheltenham, Leyton Orient and Exeter.

Jim Bentley's team made a good start to the season but have been in inconsistent from since, losing three, drawing one and winning one of their matches in September.

Sheridan says…

"We're up against a good team. I love the way the manager works - I think he's done a brilliant job to get them where they are at the moment.

"I watched them against Barnet and they were excellent - they could have been two or three-nil up in the first half. They're nice and bright going forward, they've got some good players and I fully respect them.

"They've started the season really well so I expect a tough game."

Team news

Louis Laing returns from a one-match suspension for Notts, but it remains to be seen if he can displace Elliott Hewitt who helped the Magpies keep their first clean sheet of the season at Exeter on Tuesday night. Thierry Audel remains a doubt through illness.

Morecambe must assess the fitness of forward Tom Barkhuizen, who limped off after scoring in Tuesday's 2-2 draw against Barnet.

Defender Alex Whitmore is back in contention for the Shrimps after serving a three-match suspension.

Head-to-head

The two sides have only met eight times, with Morecambe edging the head-to-head record.

Every match has come in League Two, with Notts yet to suffer defeat against the Shrimps on home soil.
