Fixture: Portsmouth V Notts County
Competition: npower League 1
Location: Fratton Park
Date: Saturday 12 January 2013
Kick-Off: 3pm

Notts County: Dean Leacock (hamstring) remains a doubt but Notts have no new injury concerns.

Portsmouth: Defenders Ricardo Rocha and Gabor Gyepes are available, after missing the defeat to Walsall with hamstring injuries.

Full-back Jon Harley has made himself available for what looks like being his last game for the club but midfielder Brian Howard, who will also be out of contract next week, is missing with a groin injury.

Caretaker boss Guy Whittingham has also recalled young defender Dan Butler from a loan spell at Havant & Waterlooville and he will be in the squad.

Striker James Keene should also be involved after completing his loan move from Swedish club Elfsborg.

Keith Curle: “I went to watch Portsmouth play last week at Walsall and they've still got some good players there and can be a threat. We don't underestimate anybody and we have a level of respect for whatever team is put out. Whether that's all the pros that they've got available to them or a mixture of others, it doesn't matter to us, because our philosophy won't change." (Magpie Player)

Guy Whittingham: "I want to make sure players want to be here and really want to win games, giving their everything in the matches. I am not saying those who have recently left have not done that but I want different characters, the type of people the fans will appreciate." (

Paul Benson has been a regular on the scoresheet in recent years, during his time with Dagenham & Redbridge, Charlton, Swindon and now Portsmouth.

The frontman is currently on loan at Fratton Park and has scored twice in seven starts.

His tally for the season stands at five, having netted three times for his parent club Swindon.

Benson grabbed 13 goals last term, most of which helped the Robins to promotion from npower League 2.

Notts have already claimed a win at Fratton Park this term in the FA Cup with Budweiser First Round.

Francois Zoko and Yoann Arquin netted for the Magpies during a 90 minutes that also saw Pompey's Scott Allan sent off.
